I recently received this email, and I immediately knew this was a scam. Because I don’t have a prime account. Also, that email address looked suspicious and the message was in Russian originally, another alert. They want you to click on the tabs and give them your personal information such as account number, password, bank account and any other personal information. or they want to corrupt your equipment. DO NOT CLICK!
The best indicator that I use is look at the sender’s email address. dentalleadercenter does not look like amazon would use this in their email. Also, I am sure Amazon does not send out messages in Russian.
Report this to your email provider and it may help some unsuspecting email reader from being a victim of a scam.

Tom, those are some great tips for avoiding phishing attempts received through email. The fact that an email you received claiming to be from Amazon was originally in Russian, when your native language is English, was definitely a clear indicator the message was fake. When I receive a phishing email, I always pay attention to wording for anything which seems out of the ordinary. For example, twice this year I received fake password reset emails claiming to be from WordPress. I immediately knew the emails were fake because I had not initiated the requests. I opened those emails out of curiosity and immediately noticed that the wording of the fake password reset emails, although received in English, was slightly different than an authentic password reset WordPress email. And no, I did not visit the provided links in the fake password reset emails. When an unexpected email arrives with the goal being that I should take account-related action, I always visit the company’s website directly in my browser. Although the people behind fake account-related emails would like for me to panic and accept their bait, I don’t.

I know many seniors that have been sucked into these scams because they do not have the tech knowledge to avoid the hazards. It is sad that there are many that prey on the old.
