How did you meet your significant other?

I met my significant soulmate in a divorce support group, a place where we both found ourselves unexpectedly united in our shared heartaches. We had both been met with the sobering reality of being dumped by our former spouses, a situation that felt surreal at the time. Each of us walked into the group believing that our marriages were meant to last, that the vows we made were sacred and unbreakable—after all, we thought it was “till death do us part.” Boy, what a big surprise that turned out to be! Rejection is undeniably one of the hardest events to experience in life, a profound emotional upheaval that shakes the very foundation of one’s being. However, if it wasn’t for that seemingly painful experience, we might never have crossed paths and discovered the deep, abiding love that we share today. Now, after enjoying over forty wonderful years together, we can look back and see how that hurt and pain paved the way to something much more fulfilling than we ever imagined. It taught us resilience and opened our hearts to possibilities, reminding us that sometimes the end of one chapter can lead to the beautiful beginning of another.
