What’s one thing that would instantly improve your city?

If the existing laws were strictly enforced, we could witness substantial improvements in our communities. Each morning, local news broadcasts feature distressing reports of shootings, hit-and-run incidents, and increasingly common shoplifting, which is troubling. It is disheartening to see a noticeable absence of law enforcement actively issuing citations on the streets or treating these violations with the necessary gravity. Meanwhile, elected officials persist in claiming that crime rates have decreased since their tenure began, creating a narrative that starkly contrasts with the lived experiences of local residents. The disparity between their statements and our everyday reality is both striking and frustrating. The Denver metro area has become nearly unrecognizable when compared to the safe, thriving community of my youth, where fear of crime was not a constant concern. It is imperative that we demand accountability and decisive action to restore safety and trust in our neighborhoods before any further irreversible harm occurs.
