My Daily Practice of Self-Care

Daily writing prompt
How do you make time for self-care?

I make a point to review my day before I go to sleep. I ask myself what I did right, where I could have handled things better, and what moments I might have rushed past without really noticing. I think about how I spoke to people, how I reacted when I was stressed, and whether my choices lined up with the kind of person I want to be. This helps me end the day with a little more honesty and a little more compassion for myself, instead of just scrolling or distracting myself until I’m tired. When I wake up in the middle of the night, I give myself some time with me. I sit with my thoughts instead of fighting them, noticing what’s really on my mind—what I’m worried about, what I’m excited for, or what still feels unresolved. Sometimes I breathe slowly and let my body relax, sometimes I replay a conversation, and sometimes I just listen to the quiet. It’s a small, private space in the dark where I can check in with myself and gently reset before I fall back asleep.
