Reliving My Birth Day:

Daily writing prompt
If you could relive one day from your past, which day would it be and why?

I would like to see the day I was born, a moment frozen in time that holds so much significance. Able to see the expression on my mother and father, their eyes wide with wonder and perhaps a touch of fear. I would like to hear what I thought when I exited that nice warm cramped environment, and I was exposed to the bright lights and noise surrounding me, a cacophony of unfamiliar sounds that served as my introduction to the world. How did I feel when I actually got hungry, that primal instinct drawing my attention to the need for sustenance? Were the scales cold when I was weighed, that first encounter with the harsh reality of the outside world? Was circumcision as painful as I have imagined, an event shrouded in mystery that I’ve pondered over the years? How did I feel in those fleeting moments, scared or curious, overwhelmed by the vastness of life while still tethered to the safety of my origins? Did I sense the love that enveloped me, or was I too caught up in the whirlwind of new sensations to appreciate it fully?

Many times, in my life, I have wondered what it was like to experience birth, to feel the overwhelming surge of life entering the world, the moment when a new being takes its first breath and emerges into the vastness of existence. I imagine the sensations that might accompany this monumental event—the warmth of the surrounding environment, the sound of soothing voices, and the emotions of those who are welcoming this life. Each birth is a unique story, a profound beginning filled with hope and potential, stirring a sense of curiosity about what it truly means to start life afresh and to embrace the journey that lies ahead.
