Since I am in the crowd of senior citizens, I have noticed that the best excuse for everything they do or fail to do is often referred to as a “senior moment.” It seems that this term has become a comforting blanket that allows us to laugh at our little lapses in memory or the occasional forgetfulness that comes with age. This phenomenon provides a shared understanding among us, as we navigate through daily life, balancing the wisdom we have gained over the years with the funny mishaps that can sometimes occur. Each slip of the mind or moment of distraction is often met with knowing smiles and shared stories, creating a sense of camaraderie in our collective experience, making it a light-hearted way to embrace the changes that come with getting older.
